Welcome to Mad Badger Mountain. This website is primarily dedicated to my open source weather station project, as well as serving as an online lab notebook. It also includes a simple PHP plotting package (very much a work in progress), and information and links to various software and hardware engineering topics.



Shown here is the open source weather station. At first wanting to reverse engineer a weather station to use with my own datalogging hardware, but later wondered if a weather station could be built using plumbing parts from hardware store...and of course, a microcontroller based data acquisition system. The result is this. Solar powered with LiPoly battery backup, and 900 MHz wireless data transfer. A good project encompasing a number of different technolgies and physical sciences.
